WHITE LADDER SINGER JOINS MENCAP’S LITTLE NOISE SESSIONS
English singer songwriter David Gray has been added to the roster for Mencap’s awareness event Little Noise Sessions. The 41 year old has joined a host of high profile celebrities attached to the project, designed to act in aid of the learning disability charity Mencap, and to raise awareness about the charity. The gigs will take place in Union Chapel, Islington, London and Gray will take to the stage on November 23 rd , with his support act The Low Anthem. The news of the multi-platinum selling artist’s inclusion comes following the reports that former Mercury Prize nominee Richard Hawley will be the headline act at the event, on 19 th November.
Further headlining acts include Hockey and I Blame It On Coco, which features Sting’s daughter Coco Sumner. They will be joined by recent X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke, Danish techno band Alphabeat and Newton Faulkner who will top the bill on the 24 th November.
There are other big named stars taking to the stage at Union Chapel include Editors, The Lost Prophets, Mika and Taio Cruz. The gigs will be hosted by Radio 1 DJ and Mencap ambassador Jo Wiley.
Gray is set to headline the Monday and his performance coincides with the release of his eighth studio album ‘Draw The Line’, his first in four years. Despite being active since 1993, he did not reach world-wide commercial and critical success until the release of his multi-platinum selling 4 th album ‘White Ladder’.
Gray has sold over 11 million records worldwide in a career spanning over seventeen years.
