UK fans get visit from Villalobos

Chliean techno don Ricardo Villalobos is set to play three dates in England over Easter, kicking off on April 1 st.

Londoners have been lucky enough to catch the legend in action a number of times at Fabric recently, however those north of the M25 have not had equal opportunity. The last time the Chilean was seen doing what he does best up North was at Cocoon’s Warehouse Project in Manchester in May 2008. However, this Easter northern technophiles will get their chance to catch Villalobos either in Leeds, Birmingham or Liverpool as he is booked to play dates in all three cities.

The first of his UK dates will see him play The Mint Club for System on 1 st April, ably supported by Panorama Bar’s gal of the moment Cassy. Expect some sublime minimal house cuts from this lady to get the party started. Of course, this would normally be a school night but as the following day is the Good Friday holiday, the party will go on ‘til 9am, so don’t make plans for dinner with the folks!

The following evening will see Villalobos cutting up the floor at Birmingham’s Custard Factory for Eclectricity. Support will again be provided by Cassy in the main room while electro-house stompers Simian Mobile Disco will be manning the decks in room two. The final gig will be at Liverpool’s Barfly where Villalobos will be providing Easter Sunday techno frolics for the Circus crew. Also on the line-up for this extravaganza are John Digweed, Greg Wilson and Yousef. An interesting combination and surely a fitting end to a weekend of madness.
