Sonar team announce details of 2010 lineup

The 17 th annual Sonar Festival is scheduled to take place this year from June 17 th to 19 th and will be hosted as usual by the Spanish city of Barcelona with a simultaneous festival taking place in the city of A Coruna.

The organisers have, as usual, booked some of the biggest names in dance to create mayhem over the three days and names released so far include The Chemical Brothers, LCD Soundsystem, Dizzee Rascal and Air, who will be showcasing material from their latest album Love 2. Flying Lotus continues to scale the heights of success with two separate performances pencilled and Sonar favourite Richie Hawtin will be doing his Plastikman thing as part of his current world tour.

The Indie-electro scene will be represented by Hot Chip, while Sigur Ross main man Jonsi will be performing his more poppier solo act for the pleasure of the Sonar crowd. The lineup for the two main venues is as eclectic as ever and features the likes of Zomby, John Talabot, Hudson Mowhawke and old skoolers The Sugar Hill Gang. Fuck Buttons, Aeroplane, Sandwell District, 2 Many DJs and the legendary Mary Anne Hobbs will also be bringing the beats to the masses.

This year for the first time ever, a second simultaneous festival will be taking place in the northern Spanish city of A Coruna and will feature many of the same artists alongside a number of local Galician performers like Mweslee, BFlecha, Fluzo, Ino, Grobas and many more.
